Work in Newton Mearns
Taking the dash off
More of our smooth render enquiries come from this kind of housing than anywhere else. A dashed bungalow or villa taken to a flat render, with the windows in a dark frame, does not read as the same house.
The work is bigger than rendering a new wall, because an old house is never flat and the levelling has to come from the backing coat. That coat is where the time and the money go, and it is the reason a smooth render job is not simply a dash job with a different finish on top.
Extensions and garden walls
Plenty of the property here has been extended, and an extension in a different finish from the house always reads as an extension.
The same goes for garden and retaining walls round a patio or a driveway. Bringing those into the same finish is what makes a plot look designed rather than assembled.
Feature finishes inside
This is also where we get asked about Venetian polished plaster: a feature wall, a fireplace or a hallway finished in a polished lime plaster rather than painted.
We have no finished photographs of that work up yet. Ring and ask and we will talk you through it properly rather than showing you somebody else's wall.

Straight answers
Questions about work in Newton Mearns
Is smooth render more expensive than re-dashing?
Usually, because the wall underneath has to be brought genuinely flat and there is no texture to hide anything. We will price both if you want to compare.
Can you do the house and the garden walls together?
Yes, and it is worth doing in one visit so the finishes match and there is one lot of access to pay for.
