What we did
Part pebble dash, part bare stone where the dash had already gone. Two different backgrounds on one house, which is the awkward version of this job.
Both were brought to a common level and finished in a smooth cream render, with the base course and the stone steps painted to match. Stone needs a different build up from an old dashed wall, so the two halves were prepared separately and only met at the finish coat.
