What we did
When bare stone is showing through, the dash has not worn thin, it has come off. The wall is then taking weather directly and the stone starts to suffer as well.
The gable was cut back, the stone made good, and the elevation re-dashed in a golden mix with new black gutters. Gables fail before front walls do because they catch the driving rain and they usually have no overhang to shelter them.
